Undergraduate Program (B.E./B.Tech)

The UG program of Electrical Engineering Department started in 1955 with an intake of 30 students and by 1962 the intake capacity has raised to 60 students. In 2009 the intake capacity has been again raised to 90 students. Up till 2016-2017 entry batch, the program was affiliated to Gauhati University and from 2017-2018, the affiliation has been changed to Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU). The alumni of this department serve within the country as well as abroad. Many of the Alumni are successful entrepreneurs.

Postgraduate Program (M.E./M.Tech)

With a vision to create specialized manpower in the area of electrical power system, post graduate program was started in the department in the year 2003 with an intake of 18 students. Currently the PG program is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University.

Doctoral Program (Ph.D)

To boost R&D activity in the department and to find sustainable solutions to regional problems, Doctoral program leading to Ph.D. degree was started in the department in 1995. Presently, scholars are pursuing research in almost all areas of Electrical Engineering. Till date 10 research scholars have been awarded Ph.D degree from the Department and currently 38 scholars are pursuing for the Ph.D. degree.
